Date - 12 Nov, 2021 Place - Eklavya Model Residential School, Gangyap Nima Doma Bhutia throwing down a reverse dunk assisted by Pemcee, surrounded by pictures and trophies representing a decade of basketball brilliance from a remote village in India in Gangyap. The EMRS school girls built their basketball court by their hands, won the CBSE Inter-School National Championship two times, and won the CBSE North East basketball championship ten times in a row. This photo was clicked in the room of the principal/basketball coach/music teacher Siddharth Yonzone, seen with Richard Gere in a photo to the left on the wall. Nima is the first and only women's basketball player from North-East India to have played basketball for the Indian National Team, but definitely not the last.
